A little bit about myself. My name is Ben, and I was originally born in England, but am a dual citizen of both England and Australia. Ever since I was young, I have always had a camera in hand, and learned photography at school, where we used light rooms. This has given me opportunities to explore many creative ways to capture life’s precious moments.

Whilst growing up in England, I was fortunate to be around motorsports. This, coupled with my love for photography, at any motor events, I would take photos and videos to capture them. I loved to showcase these events and moments, as best I could. Back then, I had a cheap little Sony pocket camera, and for the time I grew up in, it worked really well! What had started out for me as a hobby, soon grew into something more. As well as photographing the motorsports event, I would capture precious moments in my grandmother’s garden. I would print off these images and sell them as homemade cards. By taking photos and selling them when I was young, it helped me to realise that this is what I wanted to pursue as a full-time career.

So in 2007 and fresh at age 18, I packed my bags and moved to Australia. I hadn’t been there before, and I was curious to see where the other side of my family lived. Since then, I haven’t looked back!

Once settled, and from working in various jobs, I quickly learned that bringing in extra money would make it easier to buy better camera equipment, which I loved. And living in Australia, was so much better for me than England too! For starters, the weather wasn’t so blithering cold, 24/7 days a year!

Between 2007-2017, I worked in many different jobs to earn money. But all the way along, I loved freelancing as a photographer and videographer. This process gave me time to grow and develop my skills in photography and videography. In 2017 Ben Hillsdon Photography was born and I went full-time into my business with photography and videography, with the motto of [here] “to capture special moments, and to showcase everyone in the best possible way”.

Since then, the business has grown a great deal to where it is today in 2021. Now, my specialty is content creations for businesses, to showcase them in the best possible way. I still want to create visually precious memories that people can cherish forever. Also, after years of collecting equipment for the business, these days, I can now offer photography, videography, and drone multimedia services as well! And this is where Hyped Media was born. As such, over the coming months, you will see a little change to Ben Hillsdon Photography!

For now, Australia is now my permanent home, and here for me, it’s all about giving back. It’s good to give, and I like to give back, especially to those who have helped me to learn and master my craft. So these days, I continue to attend motorsport events and charity events, where I enjoy giving back, to those who are in need.
